Day 33: 28 Weeks!

In the words of one of my besties (you know who you are) ZOMG 28 WEEKS!!!! It is finally here. Baby is in a MUCH better place than he was when we first got here. We have been told many times that one day in utero is 3 days in the NICU. With that math we have officially saved ourselves 99 days in the NICU. Wow, I hadn’t done that math. 99 days. I get some perks for making it this far too. A better chance of the lower transverse c-section instead of the more dangerous for me but safer for baby classical c-section. I also get the wheelchair rides I told you about yesterday, annnnd tomorrow I get to drink the sugary sweet orange drink and take my Gestational Diabetes test. The doctor has me carb loading today. Mmmm potatoes, bread, rice, pasta. I can do that!
Yesterday Kayvan went to look at the rocking recliner for the nursery that I found on Craigslist. At first he was a little resistant about going to pick it up on a Monday night and wanted to wait until the weekend to pick it up. He agreed to go see it though. When he got back to the hospital he said the chair it was in his SUV and just raved and raved about how comfortable it is. He also said that he wanted to bring it up to the hospital room so he could sleep on it instead of the chair they provide. See…momma really does know best. I’m really excited he likes it so much. This also means we have piece of furniture number two for the baby’s room! This weekend the stripe should be added to the baby room and the closet organizer should be installed and we will be in a MUCH better place than we were 33 days ago.
I spent a lot of time talking on AIM yesterday but found the time (Ha! Like I’m that busy) to finish the little mohawk hat I’ve started working on the day before. I also got the idea to make a little cupcake hat for a baby girl. It just popped into my head. Rather than digging for a pattern I made one up myself. Don’t ask me what I did, I didn’t keep track but I think it turned out well. So far I have 3 hats (that I haven’t given away yet) to put toward my 10 hat goal.

The non-stress test went well enough today. I did have a contraction but that is okay as long as I’m not having 3 or more in an hour. I’m chugging water to make sure I keep them at bay. Kayvan is at work today and will probably drop the chair off at home while he is nearby.

OMG I love that first hat. It reminds me more of a dinosaur than a mohawk but either way…freakin cute. You should sell on Etsy. I would buy one for my LO!

Yay for carb loading too! There’s lots of carbs in sugar so be sure to take advantage of those FOUR bags of gummy bears in your candy bucket! OMNOMNOM!

Love love LOVE the cupcake hat!!! Adorable! Congrats on your 28 weeks! We are thrilled for you. As Kelly said, you continue to be an inspiration for all of us! Great positive attitude and use of time….looking forward to pix of the nursery when it’s finished. 🙂

You’re an awesome hat-maker! I think that the boy hat def looks like a dinosaur (as my nephew has a hooded towel that looks the same way). I also love the cupcake hat! You make adorable things. I wish I had your creativity!
