Not that I can wear them or anything, but I want new clothes.  New, non-maternity clothes…that aren’t nightgowns…and that are in my pre-pregnancy size.  I miss my clothes in general.  I miss my maternity clothes which I was only able to wear once or twice.  I’m sure I’ll be wearing the maternity jeans for a few weeks postpartum.  I may even get to wear a sweater or two before I shove them in storage boxes, depending on the weather when I get out of here.  The other day The Limited, one of my favorite stores had 40% off of all of their clothes in store and online.  I will have a new job when I go back to work and I think that warrants a few new clothes.  If that doesn’t, sitting in here for weeks on end most certainly does.  Trouble is, I don’t have any idea what size I will be once Continue Reading Day 65: I Want New Clothes…

Our little French Bulldog pup has been staying with our awesome friends as I have mentioned a few times previously.  She e-mails us a lot and when she does I post it to this blog.  Sookie says she likes our friends, their dog and their twins.  The twins like her too.  Last week, little Lucy told her momma that Sookie is her best friend.

Man, we are climbing those numbers, aren’t we?  Last week was a long week for me so I’m happy 31 weeks is finally here.  I’m hopeful the rest of my time in here will continue to go by quickly.  I’m slowly working my way up to the longest standing resident in here, that’s for sure!  Not exactly the prize every pregnant woman wants, but considering the alternative…I’ll take it!  Next up?  32 weeks!  Continue Reading Day 54: 31 Weeks!…

Kayvan left really early this morning because…wait for it…he went to pick up a special visitor.  SOOKIE!  The hospital gave her a special little golden ticket to come up for the day.  She can spend the whole day with me but had to get a bath, her teeth brushed and ears cleaned first.  No germies.  Kayvan is also took her to get her nails clipped so they got back about noon.  Yippeeee!  I miss my girl and I know Kayvan does too.  He brought her into the hospital in her sherpa which she is always very well behaved and mellow in.  He let her out and she started to explore the room.  Poking her head into the bathroom, under the bed, you know, the standard.  I talked to her from the bed for a minute but she really wasn’t interested in me at first and followed Kayvan around everywhere per usual.  I sat Continue Reading Day 44: Special Visitor!…

Yippee!  We made it another week!  Guess what I get for that.  A freaking Rhogam shot.  Ouch.  I had to have my first one at just about 12 weeks because of earlier complications and wasn’t expecting to have another until 28 weeks–my next milestone.  BUT this morning the doctor waltzed in to tell me she has some news for me.  As I always do, I responded with “good news, right?”  To which she said she has “neutral” news and dropped that bomb on me.  That is NOT neutral news.  I had to harass her about it, of course.  That shot HURTS.  I wasn’t expecting the pain the first time I was given the shot.  The nurse who administered the shot was kind enough to tell me that the shot is painful about 5 seconds prior to jabbing her needle into my flesh.  Mind you, needles don’t bother me, I have no problem with your ordinary shot.  Blood draws don’t hurt one bit but this shot, as I think I covered already…SUCKS.  Oh the joys of being Rh-.  I Continue Reading Day 19: 26 Weeks…

Day 9: Happy New Year!!!

Kayvan and I have noticed that the days we are in here really do fly by.  I have also gotten used to the wacky sleep schedule the nurses have me on due to vital checks.  They wake me at 12 a.m., 4 a.m and 8 a.m.  Now, if you did that to me at home you would be putting yourself at risk for serious injury.  I guess they are just prepping me for the kid and the potentially hazardous sleep schedule he will have me on.  I say me because Kayvan sleeps through it ALL.  Every nurse check, visit from the doctor, breakfast arrival, you name it. I’m not too worried though.  Once we get home he won’t be able to sleep through me, half asleep whacking him in the Continue Reading Day 9: Happy New Year!!!…
