Man, we are climbing those numbers, aren’t we?  Last week was a long week for me so I’m happy 31 weeks is finally here.  I’m hopeful the rest of my time in here will continue to go by quickly.  I’m slowly working my way up to the longest standing resident in here, that’s for sure!  Not exactly the prize every pregnant woman wants, but considering the alternative…I’ll take it!  Next up?  32 weeks!  Continue Reading Day 54: 31 Weeks!…

This post should be full of love and happiness given today’s commercial love holiday. I may get to that at the end if this post. But first, a note:

Dear IV,

You suck. I hate you. Here you sit in my left arm, just under my thumb, rendering me completely useless. Because of you, bathing is difficult. I can’t dress myself and I’m only wearing a nightgown for crying out loud. I have a constant, annoying pain in my left arm. I can hardly type on the computer, leaving me to blog from my iPhone. I can only sleep on one side and when I roll to the other, the pain you Continue Reading Day 53: Dear IV…

Ugh!!!  I woke up with a rash this morning.  It started out pretty mild on my belly yesterday.  The nurse asked if I wanted some Benadryl and I told her no, let’s just watch it.  Wellllll I woke up at 5:30 this morning because I was ITCHY and could not get back to sleep. It seems to be a pretty selective rash and is only on my trunk (that means chest, belly and back for those of you who have your mind in the gutter like Kayvan), not on any of my limbs.  Still, No fun.  I can handle this bedrest stuff.  I’ve found a way to wrap my  head around the idea that I’m probably going to have a teeny weenie preemie but I cannot handle this itch.  So this my friends is where I get whiney.  With my new rash comes a few blood tests.  One this morning, which tests my liver enzymes and another tomorrow morning which I have to fast for that tests something with my gall bladder.  Not to worry, I can eat dinner tonight and they will take my blood when I wake up.  I can take hydra-cortisone cream or Benadryl in the meantime to Continue Reading Day 10: Itchy All Over!…

All in all we got a decent night’s sleep on the new floor. We started to stream “The Girl Who Played with Fire” last night using the crappy WIFI they have here and that didn’t work out so well at first. I knew that once we got it playing I would zonk out. Which I did. I think I made it 10 minutes into the movie. Oh well, something to look forward to tonight. The nurses came in at midnight and 4 a.m. to bug me for vitals, temperature, baby’s heart rate, etc. but other than that I slept well. I was STARVING again by 5 a.m. but forced myself back to sleep. Eventually I got to order breakfast.

Then the doctors got to work for the day and before I could eat my food we did a bit more monitoring of baby. You see, there is pretty much no amniotic fluid left for him so we are really worried about umbilical cord compression. He had a few dips in heart rate this morning that the doctors didn’t like. So they strapped me back up to the monitors for a few hours and told me no breakfast until kiddo
