My House is too Empty
March 25, 2011 at 2:05 PM | Posted in Baby Romaezi | 2 CommentsI have already established that leaving the NICU is hard. Coming home to an absolutely empty house is hard too. I want to hear my annoyingly vocal cat meowing for attention as I walk in the door. I need to hear my puppy defensively barking at the intruders in the most wimpy way possible from her crate.
So what did I impulsively insist on yesterday? Picking up Jaxie cat, of course. Heather has has had him for us the past few months and lives 5 minutes from our house so we got him after our hospital visit. Sookie is a bit further of a drive (Stacey, I’ll probably email you later. Don’t tell Kayvan I said so.) š
I’m happy to be slowly rebuilding my life. We even watched some TV yesterday and can I tell you, the picture looked GOOD! Oh and it’s been so long since I’ve used DVR that I forgot to fast forward through commercials. Never mind that I fell asleep on the couch getting a foot rub from Kayvan.
Kamran is doing well again today. They increased his feeds to 42 ccs yesterday and he took the whole bottle for kayvan in 20 minutes. He also breast fed well earlier in the day. The nurse said he did well for 2 of 3 feeds last night but the night nurse did have to use the feeding tube for the 6 a.m. feed. He did well at 9 a.m. too. He maintained his weight which is good though we want him to gain. His bilirubin levels are back up so he could be back on the phototherapy and out of the cute, way too big for him, newborn sized onsies we got to put him in yesterday. The levels are borderline so we shall see what the doctor says. We’re getting ready to go up now to give him his bath today. I’m ready for another good day!
But first, someone make me feel better about sleeping through my 3 a.m. alarm to pump…

Glad he’s getting better! Before you know it, he’ll be home… Sookie will be home and your house will be filled with tons of love and laughter!
