Day 31: One Full Month

I cannot believe I’ve been sitting in the same place for an entire stinkin month. Totally not my style, but hey, this isn’t my choice. I’m so thankful we have been able to make it this long. In 2 days we will hit my 28 week milestone, a huge one that I’m so looking forward to. What have I missed this month (in no particular order)?
Our pup Sookie and kitty cat, Jax Our home MY bed Work–yes, I like working and miss work. I miss seeing all of my work buds too! Wearing all of the adorable maternity clothes I JUST bought and now cannot use. Walking My leg muscles Managing my calendar (weirdo, I know) Our DVR I would say I miss driving but that would be a lie. I do miss my cute little car. Prepping the nursery for baby, though awesome hubby is totally taking care of that.Hubby made it home today to finish painting the green coat of paint on the nursery walls. I like it and can’t wait to see the finished product once the brown stripe is up. Since I was planning to design the monkey decals myself, they will have to wait. I don’t have PhotoShop on any one of the three computers I have here–insane. There is also NO way I can download the trial with this horrible internet connection. Next week Kayvan and possibly some friends will be trekking to Home Depot to buy the closet organizer and will work on the brown stripe in the room. The room is small so we are skipping the dresser and adding drawers in the closet. That way we can fit a rocking recliner in the room. I’m ridiculously nerdy about anything organization so here is the closet design we plan on installing and photos of the painted walls. You can see that he even painted the closet for his nutty wife.
This weekend was full of visitors. Yesterday Dad came by with lots of home cooked goodies to make sure Kayvan and I don’t get stuck eating too much hospital food. In the pile he included Kayvan’s favorite–Jalapeno poppers. Dad’s recipe is extra special. They are-n’t breaded but wrapped in bacon instead. Kate and Steph came up with little Ava as well. They brought along some yummy chocolate covered strawberries which Ava just could not wait for me to open…so she could eat one. Girl love chocolate. My college bud Jennie was in town from New York City and came by to say hi with her friend Jake. I only get to see her a few times a year so it was so awesome of her to come up to see me. I mean, she lives in NYC and doesn’t have a car so it was also awesome of Jake to bring her. Kayvan’s mom and her friend Tom also came by with food. Tons of yummy Persian food. Between his mom and my dad we had a ton of food. One of the nurses we have never met decided to comment that we had too much food in the refrigerator. Dude, chill. It will be gone in a few days and outside food is what is keeping me from lashing out on people.
Today was busy with lots of visitors too. One of my besties from middle school came by with her husband Sam and we chatted a bit before Kayvan got back. Our friends Dave and Catherine also came by with baby Luke. I gave Luke a baby bear hat..which fit him. Woohoo! Luke has also graciously grown out of his Newborn and 0-3 month clothes so Catherine brought those by for baby Romaezi to make use of when he eventually grows into the newborn size. The boy was messing with me on the non-stress test this morning. He had hiccups again but didn’t feel like swimming around much. So we weren’t getting the variability we needed. I drank apple juice and ate a popsicle and neither of those worked. So I resorted to poking. That actually worked well this time around and the Nurse freed me from the monitors.

I’m so glad 28 weeks is approaching!! Hang in there!!! When will they have you deliver? Or will they wait awhile?

The plan is to keep me pregnant as long as I’m not infected or contracting and baby is stable. So far that seems to be the case. They won’t let me go beyond 34 – 36 weeks. I would love to make it that far.

I know exactly what you mean bout missing everything and having massive amounts of food. I have no roommate right now, so I have taken over both closets, plus have three bags at my bedside full as well. Everyone who comes brings me more food!
I miss my dog the most.
